The Earth Sciences Program
The Earth Sciences Program offers four degree programs: a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Geography, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Earth Science (Science Education) - Secondary Teacher Licensure, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
The Earth Sciences Program houses an advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) laboratory and offers opportunities for professional software training, and for incorporating GIS and remote sensing technology into course work.
We have a new soils research laboratory on the first floor of Porter Hall. The lab is available to students interested in studying and/or doing research on soils, geomorphology and geoarchaeology.
Do you want to see the world? The Earth Sciences Program is taking students to foreign countries every other summer to study the geography and geology of world regions. Planned trips include Iceland and the Northern Alps.
