Adams State College Nursing Program

The Adams State College Nursing program is a collaborative effort involving Trinidad State Junior College, San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center, and the San Luis Valley (SLV) Area Health Educational Center.
Adams State College is committed to providing access to students in the surrounding geographic region with an opportunity for a nursing education that is based on professional nursing standards with a focus on cultural diversity, community service, and rural health care.
The nursing program promotes career mobility in nursing for both full-time and part-time students, and it provides both a Pre RN-BSN tract as well as an RN-BSN track.
Pre RN-BSN
The Pre RN-BSN track, in collaboration with Colorado Community Colleges, allows students to complete an Associate Degree in Nursing. It also prepares students to take the NCLEX Registered Nursing exam and continue on to the RN-BSN degree program.
RN-BSN
The RN-BSN track provides students with a comprehensive academic foundation that requires approximately 1 1/2 years to complete for registered nurses who already have an Associate Degree in Nursing. Many leading nursing organizations recognize the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) as the minimum requirement for professional nursing practice. Greater flexibility and professional opportunities are hallmarks of baccalaureate preparation in nursing.
