Lots of how-to info at Adams State Solar Expo, April 14 (04-13-07)
Government incentives for solar applications, retrofitting a home for solar, teaching solar technology in the schools, and much more will be covered at the Solar Expo, Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Adams State Student Union Building (First and Stadium.)
This free event is open to the public, co-sponsored by Adams State College Community Partnerships, USDA RC&D (Resource Conservation & Development), and SLV-DRG (Development Resources Group). A wide variety of hands-on displays for the entire family will be presented.
"This Solar Expo is the latest in a series of events we've coordinated on the potential of renewable energy. We'll have a number of booths presenting aspects of new solar technology and providing information on new regional projects," said Mary Hoffman, executive director of Adams State Community Partnerships. "The Expo will be held the weekend before Earth Day to help raise awareness of environmental issues."
The Solar Expo schedule is as follows:
- 8:30 a.m.: Senator Gail Schwartz, Town Hall Meeting, Student Union Building Room 309
- 10 a.m.: Dr. David Svaldi, President, Adams State College Welcome
- 10:15 a.m. : Colorado Senator Gail Schwartz
- 10:30 a.m.: Roger Doane, USDA RC& D Council member Responsibilities, Expectations and introduction of the Valley Solar Coordinator
- Noon: Lunch available
