Adams State College Trustees elect Kathleen Eck as chair (05-18-05)
Trustees for Adams State College elected Kathleen Eck as the board's new chairman May 5.
Eck will replace Peggy Lamm, who served for two years as chairman of the trustees."It was wonderful to work with the whole Adams State community, as well as the whole San Luis Valley" Lamm said. Lamm will remain with the trustees through the duration of her term, which ends Jan. 1, 2008.
Eck said she is looking forward to her new role as chairman of the trustees.
"It's such an honor, because Adams State is such an important institution with such a great legacy in Colorado," Eck said. "It's quite extraordinary to find a group of people so dedicated to the institution they serve."
Eck served as a trustee for the college since the Colorado General Assembly granted Adams State a separate governing board, and previously served on the Board of Trustees for the State Colleges in Colorado, which governed Adams State, Mesa State, and Western State colleges.
The college's trustees also elected Vickie Ford of Center as the board's vice chairman. The trustees reelected Matthew S. Nehring as faculty trustee and installed Toby Schreckengost as the board's student trustee.
